At this time we have only a very few animals available for adoption as we temporarily take a step back from rescue.
Our hope is to reopen our intake in January 2019 with new protocols and a new direction for our rescue.
Our adoptions fee for adult dogs are $150, Adult cats are $75, they will be spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, dogs will be heartworm tested, cats will be tested for FIV or FeLV, they will have been given at least the first month of heartworm prevention or treatment. Some are microchipped and on flea and tick preventative.
Adoption fees for puppies and kittens is $50, they will be up to date on vaccines for their age and be dewormed and have had their first month of heartworm prevention.
We do not restrict our adoptions to East Texas and are willing to arrange transport for out of state adoptions if it is in the best interest of the animal.
Requirements for Adoption
All applications are considered and adoption requirements are individualized by each animal’s unique needs.
For puppy’s and kitten’s who are unaltered before adoption and under 6 months of age, a spay/neuter contract is required by Texas State Law Health and Safety Code. Title 10. Health and Safety of Animals. Chapter 828. Dog and Cat Sterilization. § 828.001. Definitions
Home visits are required but are NOT home inspections, the home visits are to get to know potential adopters better, show specific training commands, and check to make sure all children, and current animals get along well with the potentially new family member
Our Foster Program
Fosters are always needed in rescue. We do not have a facility and rely on foster homes to be able to place animals. Foster homes allow the animal to show their personality, receive basic training, learn socialization skills, and help them transition from life in a kennel or on the streets into a loving home which makes them more suitable for adoption and lowers the adoption return rate. Fosters are not responsible for medical fees and we are able to help with food and supplies if needed. After filling out a foster application, we can decide which animals in our program would best suit your household, or if you already have one in mind just let us know. Short and long term fosters are currently needed in the smith county, and Cherokee county areas.
